Northrop Grumman has received approval for low-rate initial production of its Airborne Laser Mine Detection System Lot 2 from the US Navy. Under a $ 25 million contract the company will produce three systems, for the navy's UH-60 helicopters, with expectations that 25 units will be produced over the next five years when the programme enters full-rate production in 2010.
