Northrop Grumman Information Technology Inc., McLean, Va., is being awarded a $6,271,677 contract to provide for intelligence products and services for the North American Aerospace Defense Command A bi-national command of the US and Canada that provides aerospace surveillance, warning and assessment of aerospace attack, and maintains the sovereignty of US and Canadian airspace. Also called NORAD.  Warning and Assessment, Air Defense, and Air Sovereignty missions; and for the U.S. Space Command Warning and Assessment, Space Operations and Ballistic Missile Defense missions. ) is an all-source intelligence center that fuses command unique sensor data with national and other command signal intelligence, imagery intelligence, measurement and signature intelligence Technically derived intelligence that detects, locates, tracks, identifies, and describes the unique characteristics of fixed and dynamic target sources. Measurement and signature intelligence capabilities include radar, laser, optical, infrared, acoustic, nuclear radiation, radio , and human intelligence to provide tailored operational intelligence for command decisions and actions. Further, as the primary space operational intelligence production center within DoD, the CIC has formal production responsibilities to the intelligence community, unified commanders, and other DoD agencies. Location of performance is Peterson Air Force Base Peterson Air Force Base (Peterson AFB) is a base of the United States Air Force located at Colorado Springs in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. Peterson AFB is home to US Northern Command, NORAD, Air Force Space Command, Army Space Command, the 21st Space Wing (host unit) , Colo.
