Northrop Grumman Executive Joins RemoteReality: New SVP William Conroy To Focus on Product Quality, Consistency as Sales Ramp Up.

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. -- RemoteReality CEO James Ionson announced today that William Conroy has joined the corporation as senior vice president of production and operations.

"I've known Bill for a decade, and have always been impressed by his commitment and dedication to quality, efficiency and consistency in the production and operating processes," said Dr. Ionson. "Given our product and sales pipeline, the time was right for him to come onboard to help manage our growth."

Conroy, he explained, had held key operations positions at Karl Storz Endovision, in Charlton, Mass., where they met when Ionson was that company's COO.

Most recently, Ionson said, Conroy spent four years in Canton, Mass., as operations manager of Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems Division (ESD), which is recognized as the center of excellence for fiber-optic gyro design and development. Conroy's responsibilities, he noted, included manufacturing, production control, materials, procurement, manufacturing engineering and quality assurance.

"Among the many positive results that Bill achieved at ESD," Dr. Ionson said, "the manufacturing process controls that he implemented reduced product build-cycle times by 70 percent, a key metric for us at this stage of our development."

ESD was gyroscope-design start-up Fibersense Technology Corporation when Northrop Grumman acquired it in 2003, he explained, adding that Conroy had been Fibersense's vice president of operations. "In just two years he helped transform the Fibersense business from an engineering design house to a full manufacturing business, growing annual sales sixfold," he said. "We have confidence that Bill's efforts will also have a dramatic effect on RemoteReality."
