Northern Kentucky University Contracts mycomPRO mailMAX II for Email Protection.

CINCINNATI -- Mycom Group, Inc. (OTCBB:MYCO), a technology products, managed services, and software development company, announced that it has secured a contract with Northern Kentucky University to provide email and virus filtering using mycomPRO(TM) mailMAX II. Northern Kentucky University located in Highland Heights, KY, has an enrollment of about 13,000 and includes the Salmon P. Chase College of Law.

NKU joins the growing list of educational institutions that have chosen mycomPRO(TM) mailMAX II from a large group of email filtering products. Last week, Mycom announced the addition of Oakland Community College, the largest community college in Michigan with enrollment of 74,000.

Mycom's base of customers using its powerful email filtering system technology has been built primarily on corporations and law firms. Since introducing the new technology in February, Mycom has placed over 150 corporations, institutions and community organizations on their list of clients.

Mycom's Chairman and CEO, Rob Bransom stated, "We scan about a million emails a day and during July, about 80% have been junk mail messages with over 3% containing viruses. The volume of unwanted spam is growing daily and it is costing companies and organizations an estimated $10 billion in lost productivity annually."

mailMAX II scans both inbound and outbound email checking for viruses, harassing or inappropriate (pornographic) content, pictures, and attachments while blocking up to 98% of unwanted spam.

The new, more powerful, spam and virus filtering service, built by Mycom, operates on a highly secure Linux cluster. New and enhanced features include 60% faster processing time, the ability to create users and groups for each domain, greater granularity in spam filtering, an improved user interface, a summary notification option, an enhanced queue monitor and a bypass list for every setting.

It controls attachments, and oversized message delivery and provides unauthorized encryption detection. Address list and bypass list management is available and policy can be controlled by an administrator.

The technology employs a tiered approach to help combat the ever-changing and rapidly growing problem of spam. The approach consists of four tiers, working in concert and providing granular tailoring of the system to a client's specific needs.
