North County gets changing voice for community news.

The North County Voice, a community newspaper that was formerly printed monthly, went exclusively online June 1.

North County Voice Publisher Mary Beth Francis owns MBF Communications, which founded the publication in 2004.

Francis said dropping the print edition will reduce overhead costs by a third, but declined to cite figures.

In announcing the move May 28, Francis said that while part of the publication's content had been available online for the past four years, the official launch of NorthCountyVoice.com includes a variety of sections, such as entertainment, community news, classified advertising, coupons, traffic, health and fitness, and weather.

Plans are that the Web site will be updated weekly.
