Greensboro, North Carolina (IPA: [ɡɹiːnsbʌɹəʊ]) is a city in the U.S. state of North Carolina.
, is the winner of the inaugural North Carolina Symphony-North Carolina School of the Arts School of the Arts is the name of several schools (usually high schools) that are devoted to the fine arts, including:
  • Brooklyn High School of the Arts, Brooklyn, New York
  • Charleston County School of the Arts, Charleston, South Carolina
 Concerto Competition.

As the winner, Collins will travel to Wilmington, Durham, High Point and New Bern with the North Carolina Symphony The North Carolina Symphony is a professional, full-time, state-wide orchestra based in Raleigh, North Carolina, employing sixty-eight full time musicians. The orchestra performs in Meymandi Concert Hall and performs occasionally with the Carolina Ballet and the The Opera Company  September 23-26, performing Dvorak's Violin Concerto in A Minor, Op. 53.

Collins, a ninth-grader in the NCSA (1) (National Center for Supercomputing Applications, Urbana-Champaign, IL, www.ncsa.uiuc.edu) A high-performance computing facility located at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  School of Music, began violin studies at age 15 months and piano studies at age 4. She was 2 years old at her first public performance and has competed throughout the United States. In 2000, Collins was chosen from violinists around the country for two national awards resulting in performances in Cincinnati and participation in the Youth Orchestras of the Americas. She is a member of the Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Honors Quartet. Collins studies violin with Sarah Johnson at NCSA and piano with Ben Bradford of Greensboro.
