North Bay Hydro Distribution Limited requires an operations engineer.North Bay Hydro Distribution Ltd. distributes electricity to the citizens of North Bay with a staff of 36 people. We serve approximately 23,000 customers. Reporting to the Manager - Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Engineering Department, including outside Engineering Contractors. Minimum Qualifications Required: * Eligible for membership in the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), with an Electrical Engineering electrical engineering: see engineering. electrical engineering Branch of engineering concerned with the practical applications of electricity in all its forms, including those of electronics. Degree from a recognized university. * 10 years related experience with a Local Distribution Company. * Knowledge of O.H.S.A., EUSA EUSA Electrical & Utilities Safety Association (Ontario, Canada) EUSA European Union Studies Association EUSA Edinburgh University Students' Association (Scotland) EUSA Eighth United States Army Rule Book and Safe Practice Guides. * The ability to implement company safety policies with staff and contractors. * Supervisory experience in a unionized environment. * Working knowledge of practices, standards and procedures covering distribution system design, station operation and maintenance, overhead and underground systems, metering and streetlight operation and maintenance. * Knowledge of Telecommunication telecommunication Communication between parties at a distance from one another. Modern telecommunication systems—capable of transmitting telephone, fax, data, radio, or television signals—can transmit large volumes of information over long distances.
