Nortel announces Server for Enterprise Multimedia Communications. (New Products).


Nortel Networks (Nortel Networks Limited, Brampton, Ontario, www.nortelnetworks.com) A world leader in telecommunications products, which includes switching, wireless and broadband systems for service providers and carriers, telephones and systems for residential and business users, computer telephony  has announced its Succession Communications Server See network access server, modem server, terminal server and communications controller.

 for Enterprise Multimedia Xchange (CSE (Certified Systems Engineer) See Microsoft certification.  MX), a new communications server that is expected to enhance customer networks by delivering next-generation voice over IP, as well as multimedia applications and end user productivity tools like video conferencing See videoconferencing.

Succession Enterprise CSE MX will support consolidated networks and span multivendor environments. It creates, modifies, and terminates sessions with one or more participants. Such sessions include Internet telephony and multimedia conferences.

It is described in RFC 2543.
 (SIP), along with the voice features of Succession CSE MX, will allow flexible network deployment while addressin g the challenges of mobility, enabling enterprise users to have access to the same powerful applications regardless of location.
