Nortel PEC Solutions Selected for Army Applications Development; Tasks Valued at Approximately US$5.2 Million Over One Year.

:NT) subsidiary focused on professional technology services and high-end e-Government solutions, has been awarded a task order from the U.S. Army Defense Contracting Command, Washington D.C. in support of the Information Management Support Center (IMCEN IMCEN Information Management Support Center

The task order, issued under a contract with Nortel PEC Solutions' subsidiary AC Technologies, Inc., is valued at approximately US$5.2 million over a one-year period.

IMCEN supports all information management services delivered to the Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA HQDA Headquarters, Department of the Army ) and its assigned agencies. It is designed to ensure the timely, effective, and efficient delivery of information, mission critical support and information technology services to the Secretary of the Army, Chief of Staff and more than 80 supporting agencies. It also serves as an interface to the Department of Defense. Today, IMCEN provides support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  for more than 10,000 personnel, including military, U.S. Department of the Army civilians, and contractor personnel.

Nortel PEC Solutions, in collaboration with Serco, Inc., will provide business applications development and management services as well as Independent Verification and Validation (testing) Independent Verification and Validation - (IV&V) The verification and validation of a software product by an organisation that is both technically and managerially separate from the organisation responsible for developing the product.  (IV&V) testing services for IMCEN.

Serco Inc. is a key supplier of human resource solutions, information technology services, economic cost analysis and supply chain management for the U.S. Department of Defense, air traffic control for the Federal Aviation Administration Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), component of the U.S. Department of Transportation that sets standards for the air-worthiness of all civilian aircraft, inspects and licenses them, and regulates civilian and military air traffic through its air traffic control , fleet management, and local government services.

Nortel PEC Solutions will be responsible for building, modifying, and supporting a variety of small-, medium-, and large-sized applications to manage agency requirements, as well as providing web and database application hosting services.
