During her time at Crane, Bou was invited as a motivational speaker and host for workshops in public schools and colleges. Between the Crane School of Music and WCC, Bou toured for six months with the all female rock band Mary and the Binarys doing back-up vocals and keyboard. She also volunteered to play a charity dinner for a non-profit organization, Volunteer Counseling Service, which is dedicated to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families. The MTNA Studio Fellowship Program was established to help music teachers develop and enhance their newly established studios. The award is presented to the candidate who most clearly demonstrates a strong commitment to the music teaching profession. Bou intends to use the award to help build her piano studio library and looks forward to sharing her passion with students for years to come. |
