Spectronics is offering the Spectroline C100, a compact high-intensity UV lamp that allows inspection of hard-to-reach places. The 5.5 x S-in., 1.75-lb lamp delivers a steady-state long-wave UV intensity of 4000 mW/sq cm at 15 in. Its 100-watt visible light emissions (under two footcandles) meets current ASTM specs. A flexible, heat-resistant filter holder virtually eliminates filter movement during use, reduces the risk of breakage of both the bulb and the filter and prevents any visible light leakage. In addition, it can be removed in seconds to change the bulb or filter without any tools. A staycool pistol grip is attached to the mounting pin of the metal handle of the transformer base.
