Non-return valve adds mixing ability.A new mixing design has been added to the All-Purpose Valve (APV APV See: Adjusted Present Value ) from R. Dray Manufacturing Inc., Lynchburg, Va. The APV Mixing Valve has a spiral mixing chamber and barrier flights that minimize the amount of unmelted particles while delivering dispersive dispersive /dis·per·sive/ (-per´siv) 1. tending to become dispersed. 2. promoting dispersion. and distributive dis·trib·u·tive adj. 1. a. Of, relating to, or involving distribution. b. Serving to distribute. 2. mixing. When added to an existing general-purpose screw, the valve reportedly can allow for shorter recovery times while improving color dispersion and melt homogeneity. APV valves are self-cleaning and designed to eliminate dead spots Dead spots are abnormally fast decays of the fundamental tone on stringed instruments and are caused by a damping of the string's vibrations at a given note, due to energy transfer from the string to the instrument body. and to improve shot-to-shot repeatability.
