Non-profits take corporate space.

NAI Friedland Realty Inc. recently matched three non-profit organizations to 40,500 s/f of available office space at 540 White Plains Road in Tarrytown.

The space is owned by Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corporation USA and became available as a result of corporate downsizing. Lease obligations total over $8 million.

The transactions were handled by Ellen Benedek and Carl Silbergleit, executive directors in the office division of NAI Friedland Realty.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley (VNA-HV), a non-profit home health care agency offering skilled nursing; speech, occupational and physical therapy; social workers; custodial care and psychiatric home care, leased over 25,000 s/f for its headquarters.

Michelle Quirdo, CEO of VNA-HV said, "The excellent location and the reputation of Ciba as a landlord was instrumental in the consolidation of our headquarters from Mount Kisco and our satellite facility in Pelham."

The Westchester Library System (WLS) leased close to 13,000 s/f of office, data center and storage space. WLS, established in 1958, is a state-chartered, cooperative library system serving all 38 Westchester public libraries.

"Ellen Benedek and Carl Silbergleit were able to understand our diverse space needs and created a solution by locating our office and warehouse on the same floor while placing our state-of-the-art data center on a different floor," said Siobahn Riordam, WLS Executive Director.

The third tenant represented by Friedland Realty is Junior Achievement of the Hudson Valley, a network of volunteers, educators, parents, and contributors who reach out to students to form a bridge between education and business. Junior Achievement signed a lease for 2,500 s/f of space.

The landlord was represented by Studley.
