Alan Ainscow (born 15 July 1953 in Bolton, Lancashire) is a former English professional footballer.
 is to take over as coach of Burscough's Under-17s side in a joint role with exLinnet's defender, Kevin Formby.

Ainscow, a former England youth international, made almost 500 League appearances during a distinguished playing career, starting at Blackpool before moving on to Birmingham City, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers and Rochdale while Formby was transferred by Burscough to Rochdale in 1994 for a fee of pounds 11,000 and went on to play at Anfield in an FA Cup tie against Liverpool.
