Non-BDE FR for flexible PUR foam.


Two new brominated flame retardants Brominated flame retardants are produced synthetically in 70 variants with very varying chemical properties. There are several groups:
  • polybrominated diphenyl ether or PBDE (DecaBDE, OctaBDE, PentaBDE),
  • polybrominated biphenyl, or PBB
 for flexible urethane urethane (yoor´ithān´),
n ethyl carbamate used as an anesthetic agent for laboratory animals, formerly used as a hypnotic in humans.

, Conn., were incorrectly described in our August issue as being based on BDE See Borland Database Engine.  chemistry, which is the subject of environmental health concerns. In fact, Firemaster 600 and 602, like their predecessors 550 and 552, are proprietary non-BDE phosphorus-bromine FR agents.
