Nominations sought for 2006 Tess Award.


The American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill (see Sutter, John Augustus) along the river in 1848 led to the California gold rush of  Chemical Society's Division of Polymeric polymeric /poly·mer·ic/ (pol?i-mer´ik) exhibiting the characteristics of a polymer.

, D.C., is now seeking nominations for the 2006 Roy W. Tess Award in Coatings. The award will be presented on September 11, 2006 at the National Meeting of the Chemical Society in Washington, D.C. The winner of the Tess Award will receive a $2,000 cash prize.

The award recognizes outstanding individual achievements and noteworthy contributions to coatings science, technology, and engineering, and it confirms PMSE's continued support and dedication to the coatings technology field.

Nominations are welcome from all related sections of the industry, academia, and government. Names of nominees should be sent to David R. Bauer, Tess Award Chairman, Ford Motor Company, Research Laboratory-MD3182, P.O. Box 2053, Dearborn, MI 48121.

Upon receipt of nominations, the Chairman will provide documentation requesting information on the respective nominees relevant to patents, publications, and overall qualifications and achievements.
