Nominations for NSPR awards due.


Nominations are due for two awards that honor excellence in the field as well as students and activists. They will be given out at the 2006 NRPA NRPA National Recreation and Park Association
NRPA Natural Resources Protective Association (Staten Island, NY)
NRPA Niagara Regional Police Association (Canada)
NRPA National Rifle and Pistol Association
 Congress & Exposition in Seattle, Wash. Below are the categories:

National Student Award for Excellence

Nominate nom·i·nate  
tr.v. nom·i·nat·ed, nom·i·nat·ing, nom·i·nates
1. To propose by name as a candidate, especially for election.

2. To designate or appoint to an office, responsibility, or honor.
 outstanding undergraduates in park and outdoor recreation resource management. Nominations due May 27.

William Penn Mott, Jr. Awards

Awarded primarily for professional achievement in the field of parks and recreation, and citizen action contributing to the advancement of the profession or park and recreation programs. The determining factor shall be the degree of sustained proficiency pro·fi·cien·cy

The state or quality of being proficient; competence.

 or excellence of a single achievement or contribution made by the nominee. The achievement may be in the area of policy development, administration, public affairs Those public information, command information, and community relations activities directed toward both the external and internal publics with interest in the Department of Defense.
