iPass Inc. offers high-speed, VPN integrated, simple to use Global Broadband Roaming service to corporations. The iPass Global Broadband Roaming service provides high-speed remote access from Internet hotspots such as airports, hotels and convention centers via wireless and wired connections.

"Commercial broadband WiFi networks are becoming an important connectivity mechanism for the mobile enterprise workforce," said Anurag Lal, Vice President of Business Development at iPass Inc. "Because Nomadix built support for the iPassConnect client into its Network Service Engine, it allows iPass to enhance the ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot).  for wireless broadband service providers deploying this technology by creating a new wholesale revenue stream that leverages the iPass customer base. iPass in turn enables WiFi roaming to enterprise customers by leveraging this built-in support."

GRIC Communications provides Internet-based mobile office communications services for mobile professionals. The GRIC MobileOffice(TM) service allows mobile and remote business people to securely connect to the Internet and their corporate networks from high-speed wireless hotspots in airports, hotels, convention centers and other facilities.

IEEE 802.1x Support

The Nomadix NSE Version 3.06 provides support for the IEEE 802.1x standard for port-based authentication, enabling mobile users with 802.1x clients to gain access to public wireless broadband networks. The added support for IEEE 802.1x provides a wider choice of authentication methods, beyond UAM and Smart Client software that can now be simultaneously supported in Nomadix-enabled networks.

IPSec Support

Nomadix has enhanced its Virtual Private Network (VPN) capabilities by adding support for IPSec in Version 3.06. While the NSE currently supports VPN tunnels via PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol) A protocol from Microsoft that is used to create a virtual private network (VPN) over the Internet. Remote users can access their corporate networks via any ISP that supports PPTP on its servers.  connections, the most popular type of VPN usage is IPSec. This capability enables mobile users to transparently establish IPSec tunnels to their home network when they roam into a Nomadix-enabled network.

Proxy ARP Support

The addition of Proxy ARP support within Version 3.06 allows network administrators to enable communications between VoIP devices residing on the same network subnet (SUBNETwork) A logical division of a local area network, which is created to improve performance and provide security. To enhance performance, subnets limit the number of nodes that compete for available bandwidth. , while simultaneously maintaining secure data transmission.
