Nokia supplies fixed access equipment to Liao He Petroleum Exploration Bureau, China.HELSINKI, Finland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 19, 1998--Nokia and the Telecommunications Company of Liao He Petroleum Exploration Bureau, China, have signed an agreement for the delivery of the Nokia Synfonet(r) SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) The European counterpart to SONET. Nokia will supply its Synfonet STM-16 equipment, network management system and customer services such as installation, training and technical support. Nokia has already supplied Liao He with DX 200 switching equipment, a NMT (Nordic Mobile Telephone) An analog cellular phone system deployed in more than 40 countries in Europe. Launched in the Scandinavian countries in 1979, NMT was the first analog cellphone system. Both 450 MHz and 900 MHz versions are available. The third largest oilfield in China, Liao He Petroleum Exploration Bureau selected Nokia because of its competence and experience in the provision of transmission equipment.
