Nokia at E3 Expo 2001.

Nokia has today made a series of games related announcements at E3 Expo 2001 (May 17-19) held in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. .

Nokia is again showing its commitment to the games industry by its presence at the world's largest game event for the 2nd year in a row. The company announced new entertainment content developed for the Nokia 9210 Communicator The Nokia 9210 Communicator is a third generation Communicator series smartphone produced by Nokia, introduced in 2000. It greatly improved on the second generation Nokia 9110 Communicator, providing colour main screen, changing to Symbian OS platform and ARM processor.  and new licensing agreements with games developers for the Nokia Mobile Entertainment Service. Nokia also demonstrated a wide range of mobile games and the Nokia Media Terminal, a recently launched home entertainment platform. A new website dedicated to the support of developers of games for the Nokia Media Terminal was also opened in conjunction with the exhibition.

Nokia introduced two new games developed for the Nokia 9210 Communicator and specially optimized for its high-resolution color screen and the Symbian operating platform. The Mobile Soccer game, developed by Kuju Entertainment Kuju Entertainment is a European computer and video game corporation. Kuju Entertainment was formed after a management buyout of Simis from Eidos Interactive. They have collaborated with several companies on games for various platforms, including the Nintendo GameCube, Playstation  is the second published add-on game for the newest Nokia Communicator The Nokia Communicator is a brand name for a series of Nokia smartphones, all of which appear as normal (if large) phones on the outside yet have a keyboard and a large LCD screen inside, as well as Internet connectivity and clients for Internet and non-Internet communication . The second announced game for the Nokia 9210 Communicator is the Golf game, developed and published by Rage Software Rage Software Limited or Rage Games Limited was a British video game developer. Formed in 1992, its games were marked by an emphasis on graphical effects with arcade gameplay.

The company closed in January, 2003.
 plc. Owners of the Nokia 9210 Communicator will be able to download both games from Club Nokia. Both games are scheduled to be available during the 2nd half of 2001.

Nokia Home Communications announced the launch of a new website, ostdev.net, dedicated to support developers creating content for the Nokia Media Terminal, an innovative home infotainment device. Ostdev.net is run in collaboration with US-based Collabnet and will feature development tools such as source code, documentation, examples and tutorials, and project hosting related to the OST n. 1. Nokia Home Communications and Loki Sofware also announced an agreement to bring Linux games developed by Loki to users via the Nokia Media Terminal.

Further, Nokia announced its cooperation with Supedo to develop games for WAP (1) (Wireless Access Point) See access point.

(2) (Wireless Application Protocol) A standard for providing cellular phones, pagers and other handheld devices with secure access to e-mail and text-based Web pages.
 (Wireless Application Protocol) enabled phones. Under the terms of the agreement, Supedo will develop three game titles Boxes, Concentration, and Truth or bluff. Nokia will provide the mobile games community with Supedo's games via the Nokia Mobile Entertainment Service. The Nokia Mobile Entertainment Service offers operators and service providers a continuously growing selection of mobile games developed by third parties. The Nokia Mobile Entertainment Service is a Nokia hosted and facilitated solution encompassing a wide selection of mobile games, game developer tools and support, facilitation, server hosting, and a platform for running game applications.

Finally, Nokia announced new WAP games from iomo, Kuju Entertainment, and Morpheme morpheme: see grammar.

 which will be available to users via the operator provided Nokia Mobile Entertainment Service. iomo will develop seven new titles for Nokia including Wap Hunter, Wap Fishing, Wapundrum, Blinder Thinker, Runaway and Infiltrator. New games from Morpheme will include Killer, House Numbers, 5 thousand, Crazy Eights, Cat and Mouse. Kuju Entertainment will develop a new game called Alife.
