NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 16, 2003

Once upon a time, New York New York, state, United States

City's nightlife was the envy of the world. Nights were filled with theatre, fantasy, and escape, as clubs such as Studio 54, Area, and The Palladium reigned supreme. This was a time, as design icon Halston once insisted, that "every great fashion trend started in a New York nightclub." Fortunately, these times are upon us again with Nocturne nocturne (nŏk`tûrn) [Fr.,=night piece], in music, romantic instrumental piece, free in form and usually reflective or languid in character. John Field wrote the first nocturnes, influencing Chopin in the writing of his 19 nocturnes for piano. , nightlife impresario Michael Ault's latest statement in the evolution of the night. With Nocturne (144 Bleecker Street), Ault heralds the return of the fantasy and drama that was once nightlife. As the name implies, Nocturne is more than a club, it is the celebration of the night and the creatures which inhabit it. A graceful synthesis of elegance with a bit of the sinister, Nocturne takes those daring enough to enter into an exotic netherworld where Tim Burton and "Lord of the Rings" meets "Eyes Wide Shut" - all set in Medieval Venice during the infamous Carnival.

By traditional lounge standards, Nocturne will certainly cast an impressive shadow, with a 7,000 square foot expanse and 25 foot ceilings. However, its massive limestone walls encrusted en·crust   also in·crust

Who better to bring this audacious plan to life than Michael Ault? With over twenty years TWENTY YEARS. But the greatest trend of all still eludes us, a nightclub as a spectacle of fantasy, drama, and mystery .... in a word, theatre.

So, prepare yourself for a renaissance in New York's nightlife. The rebirth of a grand tradition is here once more in Nocturne, by Michael Ault.
