New Flame Resistant, Anti-Microbial Gear Protects Our Soldiers

SCRANTON, Pa. -- Noble Biomaterials, creator of X-STATIC[R] The Silver Fiber([R]), has developed the FRX fiber system to respond to the military's need for flame resistant clothing. The system, which includes underwear, socks, t-shirts, jackets and combat uniforms, has been incorporated into the U.S. Military's standard issued items.

Because of this threat, the armed forces have implemented the Flame Resistant Organizational Gear (FROG) program to issue new fire-resistant clothing to soldiers in an effort to reduce severe burns. The focus of the FROG program is to procure clothing that will provide protection against flame, heat and flash point of no less than 800 degrees F (427 C) to the face, neck, upper torso and extremities.

Clothing made with X-STATIC is has been tested and demonstrated to eliminate 99.9% of micro-organisms in the garment, reducing microbial load and stain and deterioration control of the clothing. In addition to being fire retardant, the X-STATIC([R]) FRX system provides natural anti-odor, anti-static, anti-microbial, thermodynamic and hydrodynamic features, adding an extra clinical level of protection.
