Our Living Language Speakers of some scattered varieties of American English sometimes use I'm instead of I've or I have in present perfect constructions, as in
 not talking about his political philosophy but about the instruction given to his drivers. Actually, it makes sense. You are more likely to get in trouble when you turn left because you have to judge the speed of cars coming from both directions. Indeed, there is proof that this is so in the case of seniors.
