Church of England In the Church of England, General Synod was instituted in 1970 and is the culmination of a process of rediscovering self-government for the Church of England that had 2007. The two largest costs associated with General Synod are travel and accommodation. Travel costs for all are borne by the General Synod budget, thereby ensuring equity for all, irrespective of irrespective of prep.
