Nippon adds ECF process.


NIPPON ADDS ECF (Enhanced Connectivity Facilities) IBM software that allows DOS PCs to query and download data from mainframes and issue mainframe commands. It also allows printer output to be directed from the PC to the mainframe.  PROCESS. Nippon Paper Industries, Tokyo, Japan will equip e·quip

 chlorine-free (ECF) bleaching bleaching, process of whitening by chemicals or by exposure to sun and air, commonly applied to textiles, paper pulp, wheat flour, petroleum products, oils and fats, straw, hair, feathers, and wood.  process. In doing so, Nippon will invest roughly YEN 1.5 billion (US$ 14.7 million). Construction work began in December 2004 and is scheduled to be complete in November 2005. With this conversion, 85% of the bleaching processes at all Nippon Paper mills will have been converted to ECF bleaching. Since ECF bleaching was introduced to Japan by Hokuetsu Paper in 1998, the conversion trend has continued with Nippon Paper and Mitsubishi Paper moving to ECF bleaching as well.
