April 2003 will see the birth of Seiko PMC, the merger of Nippon PMC, Osaka, Japan, a leading chemical supplier, and Seiko Chemicals, Akashi Akashi (ä'kä`shē), city (1990 pop. 270,722), Hyogo prefecture, W Honshu, Japan, on the Harima Sea and the Akashi Channel.
