Nino Vendome scraps plans for 'habitable sculpture' downtown.

The leader of the community group opposed to the project, architect David Reck, has spoken out publicly about the damage that such a building would inflict on the area. Reck, an architect who resides in the Hudson Square neighborhood, did not return calls for comment on the tower's future.
