Nine Finalists to Compete at 'Jackie Chan Studio Fitness School Dash' National Championship; Finals Competition Taking Place December 10 at ESPN Zone in New York; Winner to Receive $10,000 for College.

The national fitness competition among sixth through eighth grade students began in mid-October and concludes on Saturday, December 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the ESPN ESPN Entertainment and Sports Programming Network  Zone in Times Square.

), the "Jackie Chan Studio Fitness School Dash" competition was created to promote physical fitness within the education system. "Thousands of students, parents and teachers from across the country have participated in the Jackie Chan Studio Fitness School Dash, and they all deserve a big thank you for making this such a fun, spirited fitness competition."

The "Jackie Chan Studio Fitness School Dash" competition began with students competing at their home schools. Using the J-Mat, each participant was challenged to take the most number of steps in a 10-second period. One winner from each grade advanced to city-wide semifinals, where the top three fastest "dashers" received $100, $50 and $25 for college. The city-wide competitions also determined which nine regional finalists would be flown with their families to New York to compete in the National Grand Championship.
