Nikko Principal, AnGes MG Establish Fund for Pharmaceutical, Medical and Biotechnology Companies.

It is a tourist resort and religious center, famous for its ornate temples and shrines, dating from the Yedo period (1600–1868)  Principal Investments Japan (NPIJ) and AnGes MG jointly announced on August 10 that the two companies have agreed to collaborate in the fields of pharmaceutical, medical care and biotechnology, and established a joint investment fund, Bio Sight Innovation No.1 Investment Business Limited Partnership.

) fund, to which NPIJ and AnGes MG contribute 1.5 billion yen ($13 mil) and 1 billion yen ($9 mil), respectively, mainly targets pharmaceutical and medical companies as well as bio-venture companies in Japan and overseas.

Bio-Sight Capital, a Japanese company, manages the fund, being responsible for selecting targets. As an initial step, the fund will invest 5 million euros in Avontec, a German bio-venture company specializing in the development of nucleic-acid-based agents.
