Nicor Electric Offers 14 Percent Lower Electricity Prices.
The new offer is a result of the recently announced licensing agreement between Nicor Advanced Energy, LLC, and Dominion Retail, a leading energy supplier. Under the agreement, Dominion Retail is marketing electricity to ComEd's 3.4 million residential customers and supplying the electricity under the Nicor Electric name, and Nicor Advanced Energy is providing sales support through its industry leading call center.
The electric market in Illinois has been open to competition for several years, but it's only recently that new suppliers have decided to enter the market due to improvements in electric utilities' billing and collection services for other electric providers.
"In 15 years of serving energy customers in deregulated markets, we have found that customers benefit from choice," said Richard Zelenko, Vice President, Dominion Retail. "We are pleased to enter the Illinois electric market, and to help customers save on their electric bills."
Nicor Electric will supply the electricity, and ComEd will continue to deliver the electricity, read the meter, provide a single bill with all charges, maintain electric lines, and respond to outages and emergencies. Customers can also continue to select a budget billing plan.
"This offer brings much needed savings to consumers," said Paul DeLacey, Nicor Advanced Energy Vice President, Optimization & Planning for Nicor Advanced Energy. "And customers know they are dealing with two companies that have a long-standing commitment to customer service." Customers can find out more at www.nicorelectric.com or by calling 1-888-491-6493.
The agreement between Nicor Advanced Energy and Dominion Retail is not a joint venture or partnership. Nicor Electric is not a subsidiary of Nicor Inc. or affiliate of any Nicor Company.
