Nick J. Paslidis.

Nick J. Paslidis, MD, PhD, MHCM is chief executive officer of the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC), the state's Medicare quality improvement organization. He was also recently appointed to the board of directors of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. Paslidis was previously the medical director of the White River Rural Health Centers in Carlisle and Augusta, Arkansas. He is a recent master's graduate in health care management from the Harvard School of Public Health, where he graduated magna cum laude. He received his medical degree with honors from Ross University School of Medicine in New York and the West Indies, and his doctorate with honors from the University of Crete School of Medicine in Greece. As an active member of the Arkansas health care community for more than 10 years, Paslidis has served as an assistant professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and at the College of Public Health, and on the board of directors of the Community Health Centers of Arkansas. He is a board member of the Arkansas Medical Society and has been involved with AFMC since 1996, first as a physician reviewer, and later as a board member and chairman of the board. Paslidis is also on the board of directors, and served as chairman for four years, of the Arkansas Health Care Access Foundation, an organization meeting the medical needs of Arkansas' uninsured. He is a co-author on numerous articles and lectures presented locally and across the nation.
