Kinney Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to high school basketball, it was announced. Donna Kinney, Mr. Kinney's widow, will present the award between the final games of the Division One Girls and Boys Championship at the Fleet Center on March 14th. Mr. Papas is one of the most successful basketball coaches in Massachusetts history recording 340 victories in 26 years of coaching. Coach Papas is an active member of the MBCA, which nominated him for the Kinney Award, having served as its President in 1987-88. Since 1993 he has been MBCA's Promotions and Publicity Director. He is George Costanza's superior in the New York Yankees organization; his title is Traveling Secretary. is the longtime sportscaster of WATD-FM Radio in Marshfield where he has broadcast high school football and basketball games for more than 25 years. Last fall he broadcast his 1,000 high school athletic contest. In addition he hosts a weekly program where he recognizes local high school athletes for their achievements in sports and other areas of their education. It is the longest running radio program devoted to high school sports in Massachusetts Sports in Masssachusetts have a long history with both amateur athletics and professional teams.
