Nexus Software Introduces New Version of Its XFSconnect Branch Automation Middleware Solution.
RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2001
XFSConnect improves branch automation processes
through new features and available packages
Nexus Software, Inc., a company specializing in open retail banking middleware, today announced the commercial availability of XFSConnect(TM) 2.6, the latest version of the company's XFSConnect(TM) branch automation middleware.
XFSConnect 2.6 provides an operational environment where virtually any banking-specific or Windows-based peripheral device may be used within retail branches and enables totally portable, XFS-compliant retail banking solutions.
XFSConnect 2.6 represents a major update to Nexus' XFS product family and enables improved branch automation solutions through the introduction of three specific packages: Branch Edition (for distribution of offline or networked branch workstations operating under Windows 98, Windows NT4 or Windows 2000), Server Edition (available for Citrix Metaframe servers), and Developer Edition (enables solution developers to more efficiently build branch automation solutions for both workstation and thin-client server environments). In addition, XFSConnect 2.6 features support for more than 170 banking-specific devices from more than 40 different manufacturers (a 40 percent increase from version 2.5).
This latest version of XFSConnect features open ActiveXFS 3.0 technology and adheres to the XFS (eXtensions for Financial Services) International standard for retail banking applications. XFS is an open-architecture, industry standard format created to help banks solve peripheral device communication problems. Active XFS 3.0 provides XFSConnect-based solutions with transparent XFS 2 and XFS 3 standards compatibility and the choice in programming language and environments that support ActiveX or .NET.
"As connectivity issues become more complex for retail bankers, XFSConnect will continue to evolve to anticipate and most effectively meet their needs," said Robert Usner, marketing director for Nexus. "This latest version of XFSConnect is indicative of our commitment to retail bankers to provide them with the latest, feature-rich technology to enhance the business of retail banking. I believe that XFSConnect 2.6's most compelling feature may be the option to choose among our three specific packages, enabling branch automation providers and bankers to select the package which best fits their needs."
