Survey Reveals that Documents Still Pose Serious Legal Threat despite Deployment of Centralized Records Management Systems; Judge Shira Scheindlin of landmark Zubulake v. UBS Warburg Case among First Podcasts Available

SAN ANTONIO -- NextPage today announced the initial results from a daily poll the company is conducting at the 2006 ARMA International Conference and Expo, held from October 22 - 25, on document retention and disposal issues. NextPage also announced the availability of several podcasts recorded with industry experts on the first day of the conference.

Day One (Oct. 22) Results of Daily Poll

Yesterday's poll included 69 respondents, or 3.5% of the show's estimated 2000 attendees. Highlights of the results include:

* 57 percent of companies that participated in the poll have implemented a centralized records management system

* 56 percent of companies that have implemented a centralized records management system still reported that documents pose the biggest threat to the organization

* 50 percent of the companies that participated in the poll are required by a court or regulatory body to produce a document monthly

"From these results we see that although companies have taken steps to implement a centralized records management system, documents remain a critical risk and legal threat," said Darren Lee, President and Chief Executive Officer, NextPage. "The industry clearly needs solutions that bridge the gap between centralized storage solutions and the chaotic, ad hoc environment of the desktop in order to reduce the very real legal and business risk that documents pose."
