NexTone to Present in Four Sessions on VoIP, IMS, and Session Management at GLOBALCOMM 2006.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- NexTone Communications(R), the leader in intelligent and scalable session management solutions for IP and IMS network interconnects, today announced the company will participate in an EMEA Summit panel, a MultiService Forum (MSF) presentation, as well as two Telecommunications Magazine Telecom U sessions at GLOBALCOMM(TM) 2006. GLOBALCOMM EMEA Summit

As part of the show's EMEA Summit, NexTone's Chief Technology Officer, Sridhar Ramachandran, will moderate a panel titled, "Session Management - The Foundation for Successful VoIP Deployments" that will include panelists from NexTone customers Gamma Telecom, Interoute, Livewire, and Streamdoor. The panel will address the various deployment issues faced by service providers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and will examine how session management technology can be used to comprehensively monitor, manage, and control VoIP networks for maximum success.

As service providers begin to scale their trial VoIP deployments into fully operational next-generation networks, they are encountering challenges not faced in lab or trial environments. Network operators need to learn the tools and techniques necessary to successfully migrate from field tests to full-scale network deployment. Session management provides a facility to comprehensively monitor and manage VoIP networks end-to-end for maximum service quality and availability. This advanced technology provides a bird's eye view of all aspects of a service provider's real-time services, including subscriber policies, service connectivity, and traffic management.

MultiService Forum Presentation

The MSF, at Booth #39094, will host Larry Schessel from NexTone's Office of the Chief Technology Officer as he discusses the importance of intelligent interconnects and session border control within a carrier's network. Today, most VoIP networks are islands supporting a limited set of VoIP users and services. SBCs are eliminating these islands of service and enabling user mobility. As VoIP networks proliferate and IMS emerges, the importance of direct IP interconnect will grow exponentially. This presentation discusses the need for more intelligent VoIP interconnects, and how they will enable and scale a wider variety of real-time applications and services.

Telecommunications Magazine Telecom U

Aiming to provide attendees of the conference with a comprehensive, educational curriculum, Telecom U, a 15-class program featuring 12 different U.S. service providers and eight industry analyst moderators, will provide knowledge, experience, and guidance on topics under three main tracks: IMS, IP services, and Network Migration Strategies.

As part of this program, NexTone will participate in two sessions.

On Monday, June 5, at 11:00 a.m. CST, Ramachandran will participate in the session "Defining a Successful IMS Strategy." As part of this session, he will discuss ways to simplify the complex architecture of IMS networks, as well as explore the role IMS interconnects play in bridging current next-generation networks to IMS core networks. The panel will be moderated by Michael Khalilian, chairman of the IMS Forum. Other participants include Verizon Business, Cingular Wireless, and Tekelec.

Dan Dearing, vice president of marketing for NexTone, will participate in a panel on "Delivering the Value of VoIP" on Tuesday, June 6, at 12:00 p.m. CST. Dearing will present the big-picture, high-level promises of IMS and how they can be related to quantifiable business benefits for carriers through the distribution of VoIP services. The panel will be moderated by Jon Arnold, principal analyst at J. Arnold Associates. Other participants include AT&T, Global Crossing, and Microsoft.
