Anthony L. Andreoli is the new national director for the unclaimed property services group within the multistate tax practice at Deloitte & Touche. He will be based in Los Angeles. Andreoli most recently served as a managing partner of Andreoli, Johanson & Wood.

Advertising & P.R.

Erika Malek has been promoted to account executive at the Weston Group, an advertising agency in Los Angeles. Most recently, she was an associate account executive with the firm.

Chris Younger and Craig Beck have been added to the account acquisitions group at Hamagami/Carroll & Associates, a strategic brand marketing agency in Santa Monica. Younger was previously vice president of sales and marketing at Creative Solution Group. Beck was most recently a national advertising manager for Morgan Management Inc. Lynn Surrency has also joined the firm as production manager. Before HCA, Surrency managed production with Diam-POP group.

Architecture

Bill M. Yee has recently been named vice president and project manager at Meta Housing Corp., a developer and operator of senior apartment communities in Burbank. Yee was previously a manager in the architecture and development unit of the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission, where he oversaw planning, entitlement, financing, design, bidding, construction and rehabilitation of more than 40 multifamily projects.

Kathryn Ferrell has joined Carter & Burgess, a full-service architecture and engineering consulting firm in Los Angeles, as senior project manager. She is responsible for providing design management services on Southern California assignments.

Banking & Finance

Glen S. Freed has been named a vice president of Dimensional Fund Advisors, a money management firm in Santa Monica. He will be responsible for the firm's tax-managed mutual funds, among other duties. Formerly associate dean of the University of Southern California's Leventhal School of Accounting in the Marshall School of Business, Freed was also academic director of the school's master of business taxation program.

Entertainment

Erin Davis has been named director of business development, and Greg Stacy executive producer, at Belief, a broadcast design and production studio in Santa Monica. Davis, who most recently served as an executive producer with 3 Ring Circus in Los Angeles, will be responsible for seeking and developing new client relationships throughout the broadcast and cable industries. Stacy will be supervising design and production of a wide array of broadcast and design projects. He previously was a senior producer for the weekly television series Hot Rod Magazine TV.

Craig Hill has been promoted to vice president of operations, production facilities and services at Walt Disney Co. in Burbank. In addition to overseeing food service, audio visual, video conferencing and on-lot meeting and event services, he is responsible for the operations of Disney's back lot facilities, including Prospect Studios in Hollywood and Golden Oak Ranch. Hill most recently was director of operations at the company.

Frank Monteleone has been named chief financial officer at York Entertainment in Los Angeles. In addition to overseeing the day-today operations of the company's accounting department, he will be responsible for preparing a private placement memorandum for a new movie studio. Monteleone worked for Arthur Andersen and Co. before accepting his new position.

Peter Pacitti will be overseeing home entertainment operations for Deluxe in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe as part of his now role as chief executive of the packaged media group. Pacitti has been with the Los Angeles entertainment technology and services firm since 1981, and most recently served as chief executive of the company's domestic packaged media group operations. In another financial appointment, Tom Vale has been appointed chief financial officer of worldwide operations for the packaged media group. He was previously executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Rank Group subsidiary of Resorts USA Inc.

Anthony Saragueta has been appointed to vice president of royalties for U.S. operations at Universal Music Publishing Group in Los Angeles. He will supervise the company's U.S. royalty department and will serve as a liaison to UMPG's international administration team. Saragueta previously served as senior director of royalties.

Government

Phil Reed has been appointed interim director for the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Bureau of Street Lighting. He will oversee all aspects of the bureau's operations including its $50 million budget, staff selection, long-range financing and planning, customer service, training, evaluation and other administrative functions such as community outreach. Reed was most recently assistant director of the bureau.

Health Care

John Sivori has been promoted to president of Health Net Pharmaceutical Services in Los Angeles, the pharmacy benefit subsidiary of Health Net Inc. He is responsible for manufacturer, retailer and mail-order network contracting; data analysis arid trend reporting; and pharmacy benefit design guidelines for Health Net plans. Prior to his promotion, Sivori served as chief financial officer of HNPS.

John G. Wallace, Jeanine M. Gunn, Tony Hilton and Winona Eichner have been hired at Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitadon in Pomona Wallace, a co-founder and chief-operating officer of WorkWell Systems Inc. serves as vice president, outpatient services and development. Guan, who has been hired as director of outpatient therapy services, was chief executive of Fortanasce & Associates Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center before accepting her new position. Hilton will be director of education and clinical practice. Prior to Casa Colina, Hilton worked primarily at Loma Linda University Medical Center as an advanced practice nurse. Eichner, the former rehabilitation program director at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, will be the new director of nursing.

New Media

Philip C. Potasiak has been appointed chief executive of PeopleLink Inc., a Santa Monica-based provider of solutions for customer relations management applications. Potasiak most recently served as CEO of Axis Software.

Non-Profits

Ken Robinson has been appointed senior adviser for education at the J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles. He will work with the Getty Museum, Research Institute, Conservation Institute and Grant Program to develop integrated policies and programs related to education. Robinson and his family have relocated to Los Angeles from England, where he was a tenured professor of arts and education at the University of Warwick.

Real Estate

Larry Hudson has been hired as director of leasing at MJW Investments, a property owner and operator in Los Angeles. He will oversee the company's leasing responsibilities for the Gerry Building downtown and MJW's proposed 800,000-square-foot mixed-use project on Los Angeles Street. Previously, Hudson was the executive director of leasing for four years at the CaliforniaMart.

Bob Jones has been appointed vice president at Schuler Homes Inc., a homebuilder in El Segundo. He will be overseeing all sales and marketing functions including advertising, public relations, model home merchandising, sales management, training and marketing and budget planning for the company's eleven divisions operating throughout California, Hawaii, Arizona, Washington and Oregon.

Wayne Saldana has joined Newmark & Co. Real Estate Inc. in Los Angeles as a principal and executive vice president. He will be spearheading the company's expansion into the Southern California market in addition to overseeing the daily operations of Newmark's Los Angeles, South Bay and Long Beach offices. Saldana was most recently an associate vice president and manager of the Seeley Co.

Music Center Official to Gain Wider Role

WHEN the Walt Disney Concert Hall is finished in fall 2003, Catherine Babcock will be the one to talk about it. The newly appointed director of marketing and communications at the Music Center, Babcock is responsible for guiding a communications and marketing plan to expand the Music Center's connection to audiences throughout Southern California, and eventually, the world.

In addition, she will be working with the Center's education division, as well as its volunteer support groups including the Blue Ribbon, the Fraternity of Friends, Club 100 and the Center Dance Association to promote performances.

When Disney Concert Hall opens, Babcock said she plans to work on marketing new performances at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Current residents in the Pavilion include the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the Los Angeles Opera. After the opening of Disney Hall, the Los Angeles Opera will be the prime resident in the Chandler Pavilion, creating room for new performances there. Babcock said she expects to see an increase in dance performances.

For almost 13 years, Babcock worked for the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens, most recently as communications director. Prior to that, she had a career in the banking industry, working in community relations and coordinating philanthropic activities at First Interstate Bank of Washington and Seattle First National Bank. She received undergraduate degrees in English and political science from McAllister College in St. Paul, Minn., in 1976. Shortly after that, Babcock completed a master's degree in public administration with an emphasis in arts administration at the University of Washington, Seattle.

She is married with two children and lives in Altadena.
