News from USWA: United Steelworkers Files Unfair Labor Practice Charges Against Ormet Affiliates; NLRB Charges Allege The Company's Conduct Caused and Prolonged the Union's Five Month Long Strike.WHEELING, W.V. -- The United Steelworkers of America (USWA USWA United Steelworkers of America USWA United States Wrestling Association USWA United States Windsurfing Association USWA United States Wristwrestling Association ) today said that the Union has filed two unfair labor charges against Ormet Aluminum Mill Products Corporation and Ormet Primary Aluminum Corporation with Region 8 of the National Labor Relations Board National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), independent agency of the U.S. government created under the National Labor Relations Act of 1935 (Wagner Act), and amended by the acts of 1947 (Taft-Hartley Labor Act) and 1959 (Landrum-Griffin Act), which affirmed labor's right (NLRB), located in Cleveland. Ormet's facilities are located in Hannibal, Ohio. The Union contends that Ormet violated federal labor law labor law, legislation dealing with human beings in their capacity as workers or wage earners.
