To keep warm, CAMA's Manitoba chapter stays busy organizing special and ongoing events. Included in this winter's schedule were: * The 23rd Annual Best of CAMA awards gala. Held in November, this event played host to over 200 agri-marketing industry members who came to celebrate the best in Canadian Canadian (kənā`dēən), river, 906 mi (1,458 km) long, rising in NE New Mexico. and flowing E across N Texas and central Oklahoma into the Arkansas River in E Oklahoma. agri-marketing. With a theme aimed at providing "Something Completely Different," the event was held at a local dinner theatre and featured 44 categories, 313 entries, a student silent-auction and musical performances by the dinner theatre actors. Considered a success by all, the Best of CAMA now makes its way to Saskatchewan where their provincial CAMA Chapter will host the 24th annual event. * The February 27 "Lunch and Learn" Session. Our most recent event in an ongoing series of lunch meetings aimed at educating members on various agri-marketing related subjects. The event featured guest speaker Terry Betker of Meyers Norris Penny who explored the impact of "Farm Succession" with the majority of Canadian farms changing hands in the near future primarily due to age demographics The attributes of people in a particular geographic area. Used for marketing purposes, population, ethnic origins, religion, spoken language, income and age range are examples of demographic data. . THE PROGRAM CHAIR WHO DID IT ALL Each year at the Best of CAMA, each chapter recognizes the work of one of their colleagues for their active participation in the development of their chapter. This year, the CAMA Manitoba chapter recognized Lynda Tityk for her valuable contributions. Lynda has served the Manitoba chapter for the past three years as Director and played a pivotal roll in attracting high profile speakers to the Chapter's "Lunch and Learn" series. In addition, she was also a key player in the planning associated with the 2006 Best of CAMA and in promoting membership in the Chapter. Special thanks to Lynda for everything she has done for CAMA Manitoba.
