News Legend Dan Rather Joins Pack Foundation DUI Film.

Rather to Host - Narrate Film to Curb Teen Drinking and Driving

DANVILLE, Calif. -- The Pack Foundation announced today that former longtime CBS news anchor Dan Rather has signed on to be the featured on-camera host and narrator of the reality based film about the dangers of teen drinking and driving.

The thirty-minute film titled "Graduation Day" chronicles four teens through their high school graduation then out for an evening of partying. In a unique format, Dan Rather will guide the viewers through the film and pose questions to the actors as the film progresses. The end of the film also features a testimonial by the former FOX-Prison Break TV Star Lane Garrison, who was recently sentenced for his role in the Los Angeles crash that claimed the life of a young passenger.

The segment featuring Dan Rather will be shot this week at a studio in New York on Thursday, December 13, 2007. "I am excited and proud to be part of such a worthy film project and I know it will have a positive impact on millions of young lives," says Dan Rather.

Bob and Carmen Pack started the foundation after they lost their only two children Troy - 10yr. and Alana - 7yr. in October 2003 when an impaired driver ran off the road while the children were walking to get an ice cream in Danville, California. The driver, Jimena Barretto was captured days later and convicted on second-degree murder charges and sentenced 30 years to life in prison.

Bob Pack says, "I am so pleased to have Mr. Rather as the host of the film. His professionalism is unparalleled and will really connect with the young viewers as he interjects thought provoking questions throughout the film."

The film is produced by Rebecca Brown and Bill Barnett and directed by Andrew Gallery. A DVD of Graduation Day will be distributed next year to every high school in the nation free of charge.

A three minute trailer of Graduation Day can been seen at http://www.youtube.com. The New York firm N. S. Beinstock, Inc. represents Mr. Rather for the film.
