Newport Appoints Lorie Thometz as New Southeastern Regional Director.


ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Newport Group, a national full-service provider of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, announced that it has appointed Lorie Thometz to the position of Regional Director for the firm's Southeastern region, reporting to Newport's Chief Marketing Officer Tom Pittman.

As a Regional Director, Ms. Thometz will develop business relationships and identify market opportunities to promote the sale of the firm's qualified retirement plan administration and investment services to third-party intermediaries. She will be based in Newport's Atlanta office.

"Lorie's extensive experience in the retirement plan industry not only gives her the ability to anticipate a client's needs, but also craft a custom solution for the client during the case development process," Pittman said. "She has a proven record of success and will enhance Newport's rapidly expanding retirement services business."

Ms. Thometz has more than 20 years of experience in the retirement and financial services industries. Most recently she was a national accounts district manager for ADP (1) (Automatic Data Processing) Synonymous with data processing (DP), electronic data processing (EDP) and information processing.

 Retirement Services, where she cultivated new business across a seven-state area. She has also held the position of vice president and trust officer for both the Bank of Texas and the First Interstate Bank of Texas, both based in Dallas.

Ms. Thometz earned her bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Massachusetts Boston History
The school was established in 1964 and is part of the Greater Boston Urban Education Collaborative, but over time has absorbed and merged with other schools, notably Boston State College (absorbed in 1982), dating back to 1852.
