Newmark secures its future in a robot competition.Newmark is giving a group of high school inventors from the Bronx a chance to take the robot they designed and enter an international championships. The students are competing in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition, which challenges teams of young people and corporate engineers to build robots in just six weeks using a standard kit of parts and a common set of rules. The remote-controlled robots then compete against each other in two-minute games in high-tech spectator sporting events. Segway inventor Dean Kamen Dean L. However, Newmark executive Barry Gosin said the benefits of the competition extend even further. "Competition like this emphasizes creativity, communication, project management and partnerships. Those are the cornerstones of virtually every business, including ones as seemingly diverse as engineering and real estate," said Gosin, vice chairman and chief executive officer of Newmark. The FIRST Robotics Competition The FIRST Robotics Competition is a high school robotics competition organized by FIRST. The FIRST Robotics Competition draws teams from every state, as well as from Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, Israel, Mexico and the United Kingdom. The championship will run from April 21 to April 23.
