Newmark inks deal for Broad St. school.

MetSchools, Inc., one of the City's leading for-profit education groups, will operate the new school. MetSchools runs seven other schools throughout the City. Claremont Preparatory will be the organization's first Downtown venture. It will seat approximately 1,000 students in grades K-8.

The School has leased the entire 100,000-square-foot property, and is currently beginning a $25 million renovation project, featuring a regulation-sized gym and cafeteria, new HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) In the home or small office with a handful of computers, HVAC is more for human comfort than the machines. In large datacenters, a humidity-free room with a steady, cool temperature is essential for the trouble-free  systems, plumbing and elevators. The property was formerly home to the Bank of America

Newmark's Barry M. Gosin, vice chairman and CEO, and Howard J. Kesseler Jr., senior managing director, represented Claremont Preparatory in the transaction.

The property's owner, Walwilhall Associates, was represented in-house by Carl Trop and David Malitzky.

Legal counsel for the owner was provided by Herrick, Feinstein LLP's Jonathan Adelsberg and Patrick Dussol. Legal representation for MetSchools was handled by Craig Peligri of Craig S. Peligri, Attorney's at Law.
