Newmark active in N.J. retail market.

Paul E. Giannone, CCIM, managing principal, Newmark Real Estate of New Jersey, L.L.C., reports that the firm's New Jersey offices remain active throughout the retail sector in New Jersey.

Newmark New Jersey has recently recorded several noteworthy transactions, including: Ivette's European Cafe, Inc., a Russian bakery and cafe, has signed a new lease at the Design Center located on Route 9 South in Manalapan. In addition, Zabayon, a New York-style boutique for women, signed a new lease at the retail center. Beth Krinsky, director, Newmark New Jersey, represented both the tenants and the center's owner, Design Center Properties, in these transactions.

Yue Fei Chen-Golden Taste Restaurant signed a new lease at Rug Mill Plaza, located at 20 Jackson St. in Freehold. Triple J. Laundry, LLC also signed a new lease at the 12,000-SF facility. Judith Cohen, managing director, and Krinsky, represented both the tenants and the building owner, Rug Mill, LLC, in these transactions. "We are experiencing continued leasing activity in the retail sector in New Jersey. The retail market has been able to hold up rather well, despite an otherwise challenging business climate," stated Giannone.
