Newmark Knight Frank to lease Reckson's 'hidden jewel'.

Reckson Associates Realty Corp. has retained Newmark Knight Frank as exclusive leasing agent for its 1.1-million squar-foot, premier office park, Reckson Tarrytown, located in the Western submarket of Westchester County.

John D. Goodkind, managing principal of Newmark Knight Frank's Westchester and Connecticut offices, announced the appointment of the leasing assignment. The buildings are centrally located along the 1-287/I-87 corridor on Route 119 in Tarrytown, N.Y.

"The location is ideal because the office park is easily accessible to multiple routes. The park is right off the Tappan Zee Bridge, a short distance from downtown White Plains and just a 30-minute drive from Manhattan," Goodkind said. "When you factor in ample parking, competitive rental rates, quality services and top-of-the-line finishes and design, the office space is hard to beat."

Reckson Tarrytown--comprising 100, 120, 505,520, 555, 560, 580 and 660 White Plains Road--is in the process of being repositioned and is undergoing a major, multi-million dollar capital improvement program designed to push the already high caliber of services and amenities to yet another level, Goodkind explained.

At the 180,000 s/f 520 White Plains Road, for example, Reckson is creating an architecturally impressive entry with an abundance of visually appealing upscale finishes, including exotic stone flooring, warm woods, dramatic curved walls with subtle designer lighting and stainless steel accents to create a sophisticated office ambiance. The property will feature an upscale gathering lounge with upholstered seating and a plasma screen TV. The Reckson Tarrytown office park also offers tenants a conference facility with global networking venues, fully equipped fitness centers, and cafes for both quick meals and gourmet dining. The office campus is next to a Marriott Hotel featuring a four-star restaurant, and a Sheraton Hotel is scheduled to open nearby next spring.

Because of the capital improvements, the properties are attracting renewed interest from prospective tenants, Goodkind explained. "Now prospective tenants are starting to see the big picture again and taking in all that Westchester has to offer. In the process, they're rediscovering some of the hidden jewels like the Reckson properties in Tarrytown. We have a lot of opportunities to offer to potential tenants."
