Quisenberry has been an ACEI member since 1967, and was the 1999 recipient of the Patty Smith Hill award. She has held various leadership positions within the Association, including ACEI Representative to the NCATE NCATE National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education  Unit Accreditation Board and the NCATE 2000 Standards Committee (1998-01), ACEI Executive Board Secretary / Treasurer (1996-99), NCATE Folio Reviewer and Institutional Trainer (1991-95), NCATE Folio Review Coordinator (1989-95), and Teacher Education Committee Chair (1989-92). In addition, she has presented at numerous annual conferences and authored / co-authored several ACEI publications and articles. She also has been active with her State Branch, serving as Treasurer (1987-89) and President (1979-81) of the Illinois ACE, as well as serving her local Branch as both President (1982-1984) and Vice President (1973-1976).

Jeanie Burnett, Vice President Representing Intermediate/ Middle Childhood (2000-2003)

Traditionally, the first stage of formal education, beginning at age 5–7 and ending at age 11–13.
, Department of Elementary Education at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, has been elected ACEI's new Vice President Representing Intermediate/Middle Childhood.

Burnett, who has served on the Middle Childhood Committee since 1995, previously served ACEI as an NCATE Program Reviewer (1996-present), as a member of the Publications Committee (1997-present), and as Editor of Childhood Education's "Books for Children" column. She also has presented at several ACEI international conferences.

"I value ACEI's focus on childhood," says Burnett. "My early work with young children fueled my concern for appropriate teaching for children in later childhood, and led to my passion for promoting lifelong learning Lifelong learning is the concept that "It's never too soon or too late for learning", a philosophy that has taken root in a whole host of different organisations. Lifelong learning is attitudinal; that one can and should be open to new ideas, decisions, skills or behaviors.  for everyone, especially youngsters at middle school ages."

Judit Szente, Student Representative (2000-2002)

Judit Szente, Early Childhood Education Ph.D. candidate at the State University of New York (body) State University of New York - (SUNY) The public university system of New York State, USA, with campuses throughout the state.  at Buffalo and Administrative Assistant at the Early Childhood Research Center at the State University of New York at Buffalo, is the new ACEI Student Representative.

A member since 1996, Szente has presented at two ACEI International Conferences, has served as a member of the International/ Intercultural in·ter·cul·tur·al

Of, relating to, involving, or representing different cultures: an intercultural marriage; intercultural exchange in the arts.
 Committee, and has been honored as a recipient of both ACEI's Elizabeth Breathwaite Student Leadership Award and the Presidents' Council Student Award. She also has been an active member of her local Branch, serving as Vice President of Programming for WNY-ACEI. In June 1998, Szente interned at ACEI Headquarters.

Szente says she joined the Association because she was eager to learn about teaching and professional organizations in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. . "ACEI is really important for teachers and children, and one of my goals is to help foreign educators learn about our mission and become members," she says.
