Grenada - an island state in the West Indies in the southeastern Caribbean Sea; an independent state within the British Commonwealth
 has a legal settlement of $15 million to pay out by January 2008 for the sexual abuse of 39 boys by one priest of the diocese. It is trying to raise money to prevent having to sell off all its church buildings and other properties to compensate the victims.

The diocese has sent a letter to all priests in Canada asking them and other individuals to make a contribution of $1,000 each. To date it is has raised $2,350,000 for a needed $5 million initial payment to save the Cathedral. Payments thereafter fall due in the summer of 2006 and 2007, with the final payment in January 2008. Cheques are to be made out to Settlement Agreement Fund, St. George's Diocese, 13 Mount Bernard Ber·nard , Claude 1813-1878.
