 Durban Woodchips (Pty) Ltd., has announced the construction of a wood chip facility at Maydon Wharf in the Port of Durban, South Africa South Africa, Afrikaans Suid-Afrika, officially Republic of South Africa, republic (2005 est. pop. 44,344,000), 471,442 sq mi (1,221,037 sq km), S Africa. .  hardwood chips from Durban to paper manufacturers in Japan. Cost of the project will be Rand 80 million (US$ 10.8 million). The plant will be ready for production in July 2004.
