only by its usefulness. "I wanted to bring together all the most helpful resources on traditional church architecture, restoration, and preservation into one place, and also to link viewers visually to the church's sacred patrimony PATRIMONY. Patrimony is sometimes understood to mean all kinds of property but its more limited signification, includes only such estate, as has descended in the same family and in a still more confined sense, it is only that which has descended or been devised in a direct line from the ," said Rose, author of The Renovation Manipulation and Ugly As Sin, two books dealing, respectively, with church "wreckovations" and modernist church architecture.

The thesis of the web site is similar to the thesis of Rose's In Tiers of Glory. Catholics and especially priests, bishops, liturgists, and architects--cannot be ignorant, or pretend to be ignorant of the history and tradition of ecclesiastical art and architecture.

With that in mind, Dellachiesa.com presents a veritable eye carnival of exemplary churches designed by living architects. Some of the projects featured are academic, but most are professional projects that have been realized, or are in the process of being built (Paul Likoudis, The Wanderer, Dec./2004).
