Doctor Who: Genesis Of The Daleks (Cert PG, 150 mins, BBC DVD, DVD pounds 19.99, Sci-Fi/Drama/Thriller)

Two-disc set of the Doctor Who story, voted the fans' favourite in a poll by Doctor Who Magazine.

The timelord, (Tom Baker), and his companions Sarah, (Elisabeth Sladen), and Harry, (Ian Marter), are transported to the planet Skaro where they meet deranged genius Davros, (Michael Wisher), who intends to populate the universe with his killing machines: the Daleks. The two-disc set includes all six episodes and more than two hours of extras.

Agatha Christie Poirot - Collection 6 (Cert 12, 380 mins, Granada Ventures, DVD pounds 24.99, Drama/Thriller)

David Suchet taxes `ze little grey cells' as Christie's brilliant Belgian sleuth in the four most recent television adaptations: the Mystery Of the Blue Train, After the Funeral, Cards On the Table and Taken At the Flood. Guest stars include Elliot Gould, Lindsay Duncan, Geraldine James, Zoe Wanamaker, Celia Imrie, Jenny Agutter and Tim Pigott-Smith.

Acorn Antiques - the Musical (Cert PG, 157 mins, Channel 4 DVD, DVD pounds 19.99, Musical/Comedy)

Julie Walters, Celia Imrie, Duncan Preston, Josie Lawrence, Neil Morrissey and Sally Ann Triplett star in Victoria Wood's musical version of the spoof soap opera, recorded live at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, in London where the show played to sell-out audiences. The plot revolves around Miss Babs, (Imrie), and her struggle to keep her antiques business afloat in the face of an aggressive takeover bid from a chain of coffee shops.

DVD Extras: Bingo Night footage with Victoria Wood performing the role of Mrs Overall, karaoke song option.
