New study on MS and oral contraceptives.

 are less likely to develop MS. The study was funded in part by the National MS Society.

Using a United Kingdom medical database, researchers compared records of 106 women with definite or probable MS who had been followed for at least three years before the onset of symptoms with those of 1,001 women without MS. They found a 40% reduction in MS risk among women who had been taking oral contraceptives during the previous three years.
